How Spiritual Perception Brings Healing

Alexandre Fischer practiced law in France and the United States for several years, and he says the law was more than his job. It was his passion. To him, being a good lawyer meant thinking precisely and wanting to help people get out of trouble. During those years he grew more interested in Christian Science. The healings he saw impressed him first, and as he looked deeper he found a profound spirituality. He had once thought that religion meant accepting a set of beliefs and setting aside discernment. Instead, he found that a relationship with God calls for clear, careful thinking, and that spiritual ideas understood this way can be applied to everyday life to bring healing.
Over time Alexandre gave up his law practice to become a full-time Christian Science practitioner. He still helps people “get out of trouble,” now by helping them overcome a sense of limitation and find freedom. In his work he has seen that Christian Science is about more than feeling better or fixing problems. It asks us to question a view of the world as purely material and to consider that it is spiritually based. That change in perspective can bring inner peace and healing. “We are not stuck!” he says. “Understanding more clearly our relationship with God, infinite good, ends fear and leads the way forward.”
His talk asks how we can move from fear, sickness, and strife toward something better. Alexandre describes prayer as a way of looking past surface judgments to a deeper sense of God as all-good and all-loving. He will share specific healing experiences from his own life and practice, and he will draw on Christ Jesus’ teachings and on Mary Baker Eddy’s discovery of Christian Science. He will show how this prayerful perception reveals health, wholeness, and harmony as natural, here and now. That understanding can bless us, our families, colleagues, and friends, and the wider world. All are warmly welcome.

An amazing talk.
“The Birth of a New Idea” by Janet Horton (originally given in October, 2016).
As a U.S. Army chaplain from 1976-2004, Janet was the first woman assigned as a Division or Corps Chaplain and the
first woman promoted to Colonel in the Army Chaplain Corps. She was at the Pentagon during the 9/11 attack,
and subsequently advised the Dept. of Defense and other Inter-Agencies on Muslim issues and the Terrorist mindset.
Currently, Janet serves as the Christian Science Endorser and Trainer for The Mother Church for all military chaplains
and trainees at Boston University School of Theology.
